The Big 12

On 10/25, I finally made it to 12 years at Banner Desert Medical Center. I know there's been some up & downs, challenges, & accomplishments along the way. But, trying to do my best & to keep on going, it finally came. I know that I've been blest with many things working at the hospital. Opportunities that come, then to reach out to them & make it happen. Just need to keep hanging on.

The Bonus

I went to the Apache Junction library a while back, & notice this summer reading program for kids. I got into it, & thought this would be interesting. It's read or listen for 20 minutes, 50 pages, or one book per space. Cool huh? Forget the 50 pages.
The books that you read, you right the name of it on the paper handout that you get from the library. That way you can keep track of it & know what books you've read. When you get to a certain #, there's a start which means your kids get a prize. The bonus was at the end, I was aiming towards it. Diamondback vouchers. I did one for Graham & Aubrey, now I two Diamondback vouchers. It's a cool program, if anyone is interested in it, it ends July 31st. Read your way to the ballpark!

Going from subbing to having a calling

Since we got released from Nursery a while back, I've been off the hoook for a while. A little bit different for me though. However, Lara got a another calling. During this time, they needed subs for the 10 year olds (I think it's the 10 year olds). Lara has been tracking me down to see if I could help. There's been two classes that I've been switching back & forth to. One seems to be towards the end of the hallway & the other at the other end of the hallway. So I go where help is needed. One problem about this is that no preparations. I receive the manual & then I'm on my own. What? Somehow I just need to quickly read what I need to teach the class & do my best. The good thing about it is that I get a treat. Yeah!
With this, it's kinda interesting to see a little difference from going from Nursery & to subbing for these kids that are abit older. Now my calling is in the Primary. Getting some experience with these kids was kinda a jump in a way. It's like talking to my neices & nephews. You can joke, but the level (talking to them) is cool. I think this is good training for me, from little ones to a little bit older.

I'm in double digits

Well, I finally made it to double digits. I've reached my 10-year mark for working at the hospital as of 10/25. For those that may forgot, I work at Banner Desert Medical Center. There's been alot of changes there since I've worked. The hospital is adding on. More walking, but it's interesting to see new areas open. But since I've worked there, I know that I've learned alot. Met new friends, & I guess some people move on. But, hanging on, trying to be a team worker, learning new things, & so on, I made it this long.
I would like to step out abit & see what else I can do. I know benefits are important, but maybe another hospital. I guess I need to explore Banner & see whats available. One cool thing about the hospital is that athletes (pro players) come by to visit. At times I see them. It's interesting seeing athletes come by & visit, & nope, no autographs for me I think I'm past that. Just a friendly hi & maybe a handshake.
There's many cool things that Banner gives out, some in the past, & for now, not sure unless they tell you. But they give us these credit card looking things that means there's many on it, points I should say, but you use it like a credit card. These are cool. Another thing is that people with carts I guess, go by the units & they let the employees grab treats from it. Like fruit I think, & some other treats. It's nice, pretty much up for grabs in a way, but you probably need to make sure there's enough for others too. but the whole thing is cool. But some things could change, who knows.
Well, enough for now. I guess I need to hang on for the ride, & keep exploring.

Our fathers & sons BYU football trip

Our fathers & sons BYU trip was interesting & cool. My brother Ryan pretty much hooked us up. We had a house to stay in along the way. Pretty cool, so we just kicked it & relaxed. The next day, we went to Provo, & ate at somekind of Brazillian restaurant I think, that was nice. Then after that, my other brother David & my dad thought they would head back & try to get a nap or something, and me, Ryan, & my older brother Kyle decided to stay & look around campus. It was pretty cool. The bookstore there was a little crazy. I was keeping my eyes open for a football jersey with the #1 on it. I almost got one somewhere else, but thought I would wait. Anyways, while trying to get tickets, one of Ryans brother-n-laws helped us out. We got tickets through him. Sweet! They were around $57.50 I believe.
Before the game, we were around the scalpers trying to get some extra cash for the tickets, sale & buy kind of stuff. At one point, about ready to give up, we almost bought some for $100 each. We just wanted to get in, but changed our minds & moved on. Later, the game is already going, we decided to go around the stadium & check things out. As we kept on walking, there was place that you can go into. Not sure what is was. But, somehow we were able to get tickets there. They were about $33.33 I think. The seats for these tickets were at the very top. It was a cool game. Towards the end of the game, we started to move down closer & closer and sat anywhere. We took some pictures too. With the extra money we made with the scalpers, for me I pretty much paid (got in) for about $13 I think. That's a good deal, & of course we were able to get closer seats towards the end. One thing that was cool about the game, we saw President Thomas S. Monson there. I brought our camera with me, & took alot of pictures.

With the weekend planned, we had something else in hand

Going up to St. Johns this weekend would of been fun, having another sub for our Nursery class, but it all changed as we were on our way up. Our new plans turned out to be clean our house. Our house was a mess, our lawns needed to be mowed, weeds pulled out, etc. Fun!? Well, we went to work. Lara has always been the star for this, once we work together, things look better. It always teaches me a lesson some how. With the front lawn looking better than usual, the back yard needs more work to it. Then we did inside our house. I know cleaning may not be fun at times, but you can always have some fun. I found an NFL game on tv and kicked back, oh yah! Football is hear! I'm looking forward to the Friday night fever. Not sure why. Highschool games, it's back in the day for me. Well, enough said about football. With the finishing touch, it was vacumming time. We borrowed Maria's & Jake's, it's like the best vacumm you can get. You have to try it to beleive it. I better go for now.
